Cindy and Lauren in Kenya for last phase of research for Kupenda book
Dear Kupenda supporters and friends,
Lauren Blair and I are leaving for Kenya this evening until January 31st. The major focus of this trip is the last phase of research for the book Lauren and I (really Lauren) have been working on since March…..I think. Lauren has taken on the giant task of writing a book on the formation of Kupenda and has just completed the 25 chapter outline. This trip will involve interviewing many staff and children related to Kupenda in addition to visiting important places like the schools Kupenda supports. We have a packed schedule for the next few weeks and could use all the prayer we can get. Internet access is much easier in Kenya these days so we are hoping to keep the Kupenda facebook page updated daily with updates and photos. We will also be meeting with representatives from the organization, “Hungry For Life” at the end of the trip. This is the organization that just raised $30,000 USD towards the construction of a boarding facility at the Marafa Special School.
Of course I’ll be dealing with a great deal of administrative issues in addition to everything else. Your prayers and words of encouragement make such a difference. We’d love to hear from you!
