Kupenda for the children

Putting the fun back in fundraiser.

If you are looking for a fun way to support Kupenda, try something like this… About a month ago, I hosted a Christmas party at my house as a fundraiser for Kupenda.  My roommates and I invited most of our friends.  We covered the costs for some food and drinks and asked people to bring something to share and a donation for Kupenda.  It was a semiformal event- most of the guys wearing ties or jackets and the girls in dresses.  It gave us a good excuse to get dressed up on a Saturday night.  The party was a blast and we got to connect lots of people with new friends.  During the event, Cindy spoke about Kupenda and shared a story about one of our students in Kenya.  Then, I got to ask all my friends to chip in and put some money in the donation box.  Simple as that.  When all was said and done, we raised around $2500 for Kupenda!  Perhaps more importantly, I got a chance to tell all my friends about the need for supporting youth in Kenya with disabilities.  It’s funny, most of us wouldn’t think twice about spending $30 or $40 bucks going out on a Saturday night.  If you could get all your friends to spend that $30 or $40 on Kupenda, you could raise more money than you’d think!  Now go do it! Don’t wait for Christmas though (President’s day party- here we come!)
