Maximize the impact of your gift through matched and/or payroll giving.

Employer-matched giving:
One of the easiest ways to increase your gift to Kupenda is through your employer’s matching gift program. Thousands of companies, including corporations, foundations, not-for-profit organizations, and associations, match their employees’ charitable contributions—sometimes for as much as double the amount of the initial gift.

Companies have various methods for matching gift request submissions: online forms, automated phone systems, or a paper form that you submit to Kupenda. Many companies will match personal gifts, such as cash, stocks, marketable securities, and the value of your volunteer time. Companies may also match gifts from employee spouses, retirees, and board members.

Here’s how to participate

  • If your company does not currently match employee donations, you might suggest it consider doing so.
  • Obtain a matching gift form from your human resources office and review the program guidelines to ensure that Kupenda for the Children is eligible to receive matching gifts. Conditions and criteria for gift matching vary by employer.
  • Complete the donor section of the form and submit it, along with your check or credit card authorization, to:Kupenda for the Children

A Donor Advised Fund is an account that may be established directly with a sponsoring non-profit organization, community foundation, or financial institution. A Donor Advised Fund is itself a designated 501(c)(3) public charity, so contributions into the fund are tax deductible. You can recommend how much (and how often) you want to distribute money from that fund to Kupenda for the Children or other charities.

Kupenda will work with you to make the giving process simple and efficient. Also, as with a retirement plan or life insurance policy, you may make a legacy gift to Kupenda by listing Kupenda as a charitable beneficiary of your existing donor advised fund.

Next Steps:

Contact your financial/ legal advisor, or specific donor advised fund representative for detailed information on donor advised funds.

To learn how an existing donor advised fund may be leveraged for current and future/ legacy giving opportunities, please email kupenda@kupenda.org or call (978) 626-1625.

If you already have a Donor Advised Fund through an organization that participates in DAF Direct, you can donate directly to Kupenda for the Children.

We love to share the story of Kupenda and the children we’ve supported in leading full, healthy lives. These stories raise awareness about the global situation for many people living with disabilities and help generate support for the children we serve.

When we visit your group, our executive director, Cindy Bauer, will tell the story of how she founded Kupenda for the Children alongside her friends and colleagues in Kenya. She’ll talk about those we’ve helped, the work that remains and how you and your group can become involved in equipping children with disabilities to meet their full potential. Most importantly, Cindy will listen to your story – what you feel called to and where your personal mission might align with ours. Our visits are professional, but also relaxed and informative. We encourage participants to ask questions and lead discussions on the topics that arise naturally.

To learn more about inviting Kupenda to speak with your friends or colleagues, email us at kupenda@kupenda.org or call us at (978)-626-1625.
