Unlikely Gifts: A Kupenda for the Children Podcast

by Cynthia Bauer, Kupenda Founder and Executive Director

On Valentine’s Day, we are excited to announce our upcoming Kupenda for the Children podcast: “Unlikely Gifts.” The word “Kupenda” in Swahili means “love.” More accurately, it refers to “a constant state of loving.” Since so much of what we do is about demonstrating love to children and families impacted by disabilities, we thought this was a fitting topic to explore in our first episode, which you can preview a sample of above.

Kupenda’s Co-Founders: Cynthia & Leonard

The full series will be posted in weekly segments starting on March 7th during the month of Kupenda’s 20th anniversary and will explore the topics of love, suffering, healing, grief, and hope. In these episodes, you will hear conversations facilitated by Dr. Frank Boswell between the co-founders of Kupenda for the Children, both Leonard Mbonani and myself. Together we discuss how to find hope amid difficult circumstances and the ways in which we have grown from life’s most amazing gifts and its hardest tragedies while working with families impacted by disabilities in Africa.

Please join us as we delve deeply into the joys and challenges of our work–work which is made possible through your incredible support. Thanks for contributing to the fullest, ongoing sense of love … “Kupenda!”
